We caught up with Abbie Lou Fowler when we were in London at the beginning of the year. Stopping off at a cosy English pub, we photographed this babe in our Ophir Flares and High Neck tops.
Scroll on down for our interview with Abbie all about her music loves and vintage furniture projects!
What is your favourite music genre?
It’s a big toss between Glam Rock and Rock n Roll in general!
Where does your style inspiration come from?
It tends to come from anything vintage! Reverting back to my music taste it’s heavily inspired by 70’s/ 80’s music videos or vintage magazines. I really love the Vogue shoots from the 60’s for makeup and the Patrick Nagel prints from the 80's.
What is your routine as an artist/creator?
My routine would be: wake up at 7am for 3 to 4 days in the workshop. At the moment I’m still an apprentice in furniture restoration, leather work & upholstery so each day is wildly different!
But I’m lucky enough to work for my Dad who has a long list of clients which are some of my idols growing up… aka Bryan Ferry, Nick Cave, Roger Daltrey... Which is super bizarre for me!!!
I tend to finish around 5-6pm and get on with my personal profile, styling and making little leather bits for my upcoming project!
What would you wear if you were on stage? Would it be different from your daily outfit?
My stage outfit would have to be giant platform shoes, in silver or gold. I’d really love some Elton John style boot platforms. That’s the dream!
I’d pair it with either a skin tight silver catsuit with lace up front (Freddie Mercury style) with flared bottoms and studs. Or an epic big collar flared studded suit…. Always with platforms and HUGE shaggy hair.
Makeup would be blue eyeshadow, a brownish pink lip and lots of almost neon pink blusher going up too my eyes.
If you could describe your first impression of our flares in one word, what would it be?
My first impression of your flares in one word would have too be ‘Groovy’! The colours and patterns are non other than that. Stunning!
